PT12 on New Macbook Pro - Video Card?

Hey All

I'm looking to get a new Macbook Pro:
2,8GHz i7
16GB RAM
512GB Flash
Intel Iris Pro Graphics & AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2GB

But, I noticed a model in the refurb store that only has the Intel Iris Pro Graphics. Is the secondary AMD graphics a must-have for Pro Tools? I have no immediate plan to use a secondary monitor with the rMBP but I might in the future.

Any advice? I would love to save a few hundred $ if I can!

PT12 on New Macbook Pro - Video Card?

Pitch II plug-in midi control?

Is there a way to "play" the Pitch II plug-in with midi? That is, the midi notes select the note on the Pitch II keyboard. if you have a monotone track, you can apply a melody to it.

You can do this with the UAD Eventide H910 Harmonizer plug-in and it's very cool.

Pitch II plug-in midi control?

AAE error 6 onm PT 12

Ya know, I was on Yosemite for a few months and these dumb AAE errors got worse and worse. My audio was running off an internal SSD drive on a 2012 Macbook Pro and it made absolutely no sense. I eventually formatted the entire mix rig, and reinstalled Mountain Lion and every app from scratch - something I really wasn't looking forward to doing, and that eventually took me over 5 days to completely straighten out. With over 350 plugin licenses, settings and sample libraries to reinstall, it wasn't something I enjoyed...but I will say, I have not had a single AAE message since doing it. My Yosemite partition was running great otherwise, and all other apps were fine, so I suspect that Yosemite is not a great Operating System for Pro Tools. Then again, neither is El Capitan, since I first tried building up a new rig for that before discovering that many of my plugins weren't supported and don't work (Plugin Alliance, namely, which is a huge one for me).

Mountain Lion rocked, still rocks and I hope it will for some time. I'll be quite pissed once it is longer supported. I don't believe in this yearly update of a major operating system and personally, I'd rather keep older Pro Tools rigs going just to get the job done. They're stable, solid, and these days can be had for very little on the used market.

AAE error 6 onm PT 12

Ran out of CPU Power

I am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and if it can be solved.
I have a mid 14 Macbook Pro 2.8 i7, 16gb RAM, PT 12.3.0 Native. Avid Omni. Yosemite 10.10.2.

Generally, minus the video engine errors, the system works well. That is if I have nothing else going on on the computer. Lets be honest, most of us need to multitask these days. If I have anything else going on like syncing with Dropbox or Hightail or whatever, I get these "ran out of CPU" errors.
I have tried running up the Disk Cache but it does not help. I am pretty baffled that I cannot run a session and multitask on my computer at the same time.
Doing some tests again today and my CPU usage in PT is at about 15%

I'm just looking for some insight here as the only solution I see is to buy a new Mac Pro which may or may not solve the problem.

PT 12.3.1 and AvidAppManager missing from downloads

Hello,

please see topic, only able to find 12.2.1 or so in my installs

FWIW I was able to find a downloaded version of 12.3, but right now I'm without AvidAppManager and so unable to update to the latest version of PT!

I see from this document that the blue sync i/o is not supported but the blue sync HD is kinda supported (when they say haven't tested, I'm presuming like the 192s that they work but they'd rather sell you the purple-faced stuff, feel free to correct me on this)

Advice on updating from 11.3 to 12 ???

Looking for advice on updating from 11.3 to 12.

After reading the posts on the stability issues not sure if I should update.
It looks like the update is already available in my accounts.

I have two iloks one currently used for 11.3 The second one never used or activated.
Would it be wise to get a new drive with windows 7 or 8 or 10 on it and then a fresh install of PT 12 and run it with the second ilok?
Not sure if that is even possible.
And keep the old 11.3 on the old hard drive with the current ilok and not run it connected to the web?

Or are the stability issues just another thing that you work your way through and resolve. I have been real happy with 11.3 so far.

When this feature will be avaliable?
Sends could have a toggle switch to select each send to be set to pre or post insert. Eg. To make some roomtracks, we must send before processeing to a reverb bus, than commit that bus. If we need to adust some detail in that submix, we need to do a new commit. Each time we need to fix something on that submix. With that toggle we do not need to do those commits. Just set the sends to pre-insert and we're ready to go. Without losing focus. That would be great!

Standalone - "Load all rigs"

Hey guys!
Been lurking for a while, but now i have a question i can't seem to find in previous posts...

when loading presets in the standalone editor, there is an option to "load all from computer" (don't remember exact verbage, as i'm currently at work), and if you select it, it's looking for a .htm file.

what is that for exactly?

I assumed it would allow loading multiple .tfx files, but could be wrong.

Hello all, I would like to know if anybody here is using Hartmann Neuron VS with PT 10.3.10 and OSX 10.9.5
The Neuron works in stand alone (with Hijack), but no audio when used as plug-in instrument in PT10...

Any info will be very appreciated...

Need help with Neuron plug-in

Change Track View "vol" or Pan parameter only on selected Tracks

For those who use Ctrl Start Alt - Clicking (Cmd Opt Ctrl)
"vol" in the Edit Window to show the volume track view on all tracks or
a pan parameter in the output window to change the track view to that on all tracks or
the track name to change track view to waveform :
Ctrl Start Alt Shift - Clicking will do this for only the selected tracks.
I do not believe, that it is documented anywhere (counterevidence must include the name of the document and page ).
Overcomes the logical gap between change track view on a single track (Ctrl Start Clicking) and on all tracks (Ctrl Start Alt Clicking).

(Yes, Ctrl Start Arrows will do similarily, but often I do not want to toggle to all pan parameters to find eventually "f/r div".)

Izotope RX5 Dialoge denoise audio dropouts

Hi all
Having an issue with RX5 on a protools 12.3.1 rig where the Dial denoiser on an insert seems to be causing the audio to randomly dropout.
RX4 version seems to be fine.
No, its not a cracked version and I get the problem whether in bypass or not.

Wondered whether anyone else has had the same issue

This is bizarre and after 4 days and no word from Air, I thought I should post here. I bought the original 1.0 RTS plugins in 2011, then upgraded in 2014 (yes it was $99 or later in the year $129 with Loom and Vacuum Pro) to 2.0. At the time, I saved all my emails so I would have the activation codes (a 5 segment code with 4 digits per segment, a total of 20 digits) for when I bought a new iMac. Which I just did a few weeks ago (it's loverly). However, after downloading and installing the new software, I come up against this dilemma - the new activation codes I'm being asked to enter are 8 segment codes, 4 digits each for the first 7 and the 8th wants a 2 digit field (a total of 30 digits). I'm 10 digits short! Here's the screen shot. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, could help me? as I said, I wrote to Air and 'air" is all I'm getting back.

I'm having horrendous issues trying to sync Pro tools as a slave to a master clock coming from an MPC4000 via an RME UFX (MTC + MMC) - i think i've isolated it to being something to do with MMC (although it could be somewhat time code related too). Basically I can see audio on the input pro tools meters but as soon as pro tools is put into online mode the level disappears... likewise when no audio is playing and i start the MPC you see a single spike on the pro tools meters and then nothing (although interestingly sometimes there appears to be a second spike several seconds later). I should point out the RME shows input is still getting that far but inputs within pro tools and therefore the outputs on the RME go silent
...
This is driving me crazy - has anyone got any ideas? (No I don't want to run pro tools as the master)
