I have been contacted by my employer asking if we can bill for a replacement of a wound vac while the patient is in a ninety day global period. My initial reaction was to say no because it is treating the wound that the patient had surgery on and so it would be included in the global. I just want to make sure that I am correct because the cost of the wound vac is not a small amount. The patient had the wound vac placed during surgery then came into the clinic for a post op visit and they had to change out the wound vac and as you know they are not reusable.
