You use the POS of where the patient is registered. If the patient is a registered inpatient the regardless of where the physician sees the patient he will use the inpatient POS. A facility owned physician office always uses POS of outpatient, 22 and never 11. The facility should be submitting an outpatient claim for the facility portion of outpatient office visits.
