HELP!! 
One of our providers here at the hospital (CAH) was sent out on an ambulance ride responding to a gunshot wound. Provider had about 45 minutes of critical care hands on but the patient never stepped foot in our facility. All care was done via the ambulance & patient was flighted out from our ambulance garage. In the meantime the provider ordered 2 units/bags of blood for the patient which was set up & running before the patient was flighted out. Can this be billed as a critical care visit thru our hospital? If not, how do we get reimbursed for the units of blood? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
