Question:

When coding for labs sent out of the office, providing the diagnosis for the outside lab do you give the final diagnosis or the reason the test is being done?

Example: UA done in office shows contamination. Physician sends out for culture, At the end of the visit the physician decides patient has cystitis. Do you code cystitis or abnormal findings in the urine on the C & S?
