SCHA-MI Billers ensure accurate coding information is entered into the practice management system by using established procedures to produce a statement or claim. Must have the knowledge to correct system edits, process payments, and if rejected or denied, investigate the rejected claim, verify this information with the health provider, and update the new details into the system. This position will be responsible for total Accounts Receivable management for selected billing clients and serve as a general resource for all users of SCHA-MI?s billing services.
Qualifications for this position include:
* Associate Degree preferred with a minimum of two years? experience billing third party insurance carriers, including Medicare and Medicaid. Certified Professional Coding designation is a plus!
* Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
* Must have knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 codes.
* Must be experienced in using software including Word, Excel, and Access.
* Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals at all organizational levels.
* Ability to work with technical, clinical, and administrative personnel in the development of effective billing and reporting systems.
* Ability to be self-directed and effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
