I have been GASING for a softube console 1 - even though I am sure it is a stellar plugin - primarily for the control surface aspect of it. My main go to plugin is the MH channels trip 3. I was wondering if anyone used a similar approach as described in the thread above for the MH plugin. My first idea was to use this control surface and map it out to the plugin. I would be turing it sideways to match the layout of the console. However I got a couple of questions. I am ok with mapping everything once and then saving a template - however how does the controller automatically control the plugin? 1) Selected chanel or what ever plugin is open? 2) What if I have more than one channel strip open if lets say I am comparing eq on the kick drum and bass? How will the controller know which MH channels trip to control?
Looking forward to hear your ideas about possible control surface options and getting some insight regarding my questions.
Thanks!
I can control almost any plugin from my artist mix but the banking is killing me. 8 knobs is not enough - I want one knob to do one thing and one thing only.
By the way I am on Pro Tools 12.3 Native
UPDATE
Faderfox PC4 - Just found this controller which would be perfect to control EQ on the MH Channel Strip 3. Just to be clear before spending $, are there any issues with pro tools and midi learn in regards to plugins? Thanks for any info. I would really like to hear from people who have successfully mapped their plugins to hardware control surfaces. Thanks.
