I have bought back in the Days a MBox 2 Mini with a Software Package primarily to make a Movie of a Student have some Sound. It didn't really work with the fastest availlable iBook and other Pentium and AMD Athlon stuff i had. It was not usable. But I didn't bother too much for the price of the bundle.
I am a Live Audio-Engineer, and didn't bother so much about DAW. I still am interrested what is going on and dont have to stick with a Product. But I allways enjoyed tweaking with Reason Synths and Songwriting in it.
There are quite some options for DAW out there.
I somehow understand AVID for not giving much support for my Digidesign and M-Audio stuff. But maybe i get anwers? I am confused. Is it me?
1. Is there any possibility to get 7.4 LE or 8.x for free and running it rockstable with Windows 7 64Bit
2. Why should I upgrade for 10 or higher? What would be the Price?
3. Is this Protools LE 7 License worth anything? (I never registered).
I don't want to spend a lot, firstly because I don't need to. But I'd like to have a usefull system available if I want or need to use one.
My "System" now is a Toshiba Satellite P755-12E.
I remember Nuendo in its very early days a very easy, stable and usable system (Test Version 
Maybe some Protools LE 7.4 /8 /10 freaks can tell why they are using it and if it is running rockstable and user friendly especially for Multitrack recording.
Hopefully moderne PC should finally be enough powerfull.
Ahm and yes are there some usefull standart Plugins with it without spending too much. Some RTAS are with the bundle i have.
P.S.: I know the Advantages of a Proper Protools HD DSP fully packed with Beat Detective and such.
