If a patient is seen by the provider, and directed to the ER either by EMS or personal transportation on the same day can an office visit be billed, and if so is there supporting documentation referencing this? I feel if the provider truly did see the patient, and documented the visit with the reason for referring to the ER the answer would be yes, but where would I get supporting documentation to give to the provider explaining this?
